Amcrest Construction have maintained an excellent reputation and strive for perfection, working closely with the design team, architects and clients alike to deliver a product of unrivalled quality.

Our Mission

It is our aim to realise the vision and requirements of our Clients through the collaboration of ideas of all parties. Amcrest invests time and resources into understanding the individuality of our clients, to provide the most monetarily feasible and efficient building solutions. This is achieved through positive and constructive communication with the ‘design team’ and a workforce that is dedicated to combining craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and a genuine desire for customer satisfaction.

Amcrest prides itself in being versatile in all aspects of the Construction Industry and has experienced continued controlled growth year on year due to our ability to diversify across the industry.

Health & Safety Management remains at the forefront of our company ethos. We currently employ a team of dedicated Health & Safety Experts, who provide on-going support with Site Operations and workforce training.

Our Process

Amcrest are not only recommended to our Clients by Architects and Surveyors with whom we have long established relationships, but we have found much of our business is achieved through word of mouth from previous Client recommendations.

We tend to work on ‘Architect led’ projects and are directed by the Contract Administrator on the Client’s behalf. However, we remain open minded with what approach best suits our Clients and are more than happy to be engaged by the Client direct.

Once instructed, our projects will typically have a dedicated site manager allocated who will oversee site operations. They are supported by the management team to assist in delivering the project to a seamless and successful completion.

We believe transparency and trust is the key to the success of any project and make every effort to ensure the project is a positive and enjoyable experience for all those involved.

Our Team

Ben Penson Bsc (Hons)

Director/Owner

Ben has always had a keen interest in Building. From an early age, it was inevitable he would follow this path. His children are just the same and can often be seen sporting a hard hat and high vis.

Upon leaving higher education, Ben spent time on site to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the build process.

Ben completed a 5-year Batchelors degree in Built Environment Construction Management, whilst carrying out practical work on site in various capacities. Ben provides invaluable expertise to any project. His professional and friendly manner makes him a pleasure to work with and you can enjoy your build process, knowing your project is in capable hands and will be carried out to the highest standard.

When Ben isn’t on site or at his desk you will find him spending precious time with his young family.

David Penson

Principal Consultant

David has been in the industry for over 45 years, he started out as a trainee carpenter and hasn’t looked back since. His passion for the business is second to none and even though he is semi-retired, David advises and assists the team where needed.

David has an avid interest in architecture and to this day enjoys nothing more than building something with his own hands.

When he isn’t in his workshop, you will find him on the golf course perfecting his golf swing!

Paul Seymour

Construction/Operations Manager

Paul has a wealth of experience within the Construction industry, with over 40 years in the trade. Paul has a background in Steel Civil Engineering and was one of our preferred Sub Contractors for many years before joining our team full time in 2015.

Paul is a huge asset to our team and works tirelessly to ensure programme dates are achieved and our works are delivered on time and to the highest standard.

When Paul isn’t on site or at his desk, you will find him supporting his son on the golf course or enjoying good food with his family and friends.

Terri Thorpe

Office Manager

Having worked for Amcrest Construction for over 10 years, Terri has a unique understanding of the business and has built strong relationships with the team and our preferred sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure all things behind the scenes run smoothly.

When she isn’t at her desk organising the team, you will find her having fun with her young family or socialising with friends.

David Holmes

Quantity Surveyor

David has worked as both a PQS and as a Senior Surveyor for a large UK contractor before forming his own practice in 1985. He qualified as an associate of the RICS in 1977 and became a fellow in 1984.

David has worked with Amcrest since 2011 as our lead Quantity Surveyor for all projects.

David’s interests include gardening, DIY, playing golf and enjoying good quality beer!
